Blueskilling Innovation project wins Atlantic Project Award 2024 in the Blue Skills and Ocean Literacy category

The Blueskilling Innovation project has been awarded the prestigious Atlantic Project Award 2024 in the Blue Skills and Ocean Literacy category. This recognition, granted by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (MARE), was presented during the Atlantic Week in Bordeaux. The award highlights exceptional initiatives and collaborations that contribute to the implementation of the Atlantic Action Plan 2.0 across Europe.

Led by the Basque Maritime Cluster, Blueskilling Innovation aims to enhance the skills of workers in the shipbuilding and maritime technology sectors in the Atlantic region. The project focuses on boosting industrial competitiveness, sustainability, and blue innovation through training activities that promote the use of digital tools and the adoption of clean energy technologies. The activities, valued at €1.92 million, are supported by the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme, which has contributed €1.44 million in funding.
