The Basque Maritime Cluster hosted the kickoff meeting of the Blueskilling Innovation project in Bilbao on January 18th and 19th, where it serves as the lead coordinator.
Financed by the Interreg Atlantic Area 2021-2027 programme, this initiative aims to enhance the qualifications of workers in the shipbuilding industry and maritime technology to drive industrial competitiveness, sustainability, and blue innovation across the Atlantic region.
Over the course of the project’s three-year duration, eight partners from four European countries (Spain, France, Portugal, and Ireland) will collaborate on developing training courses to improve the qualifications of workers in both vocational training and higher education.
Specific objectives of the project include:
- Gathering specific offerings from universities and vocational training centers.
- Facilitating information exchange among training centers across participating countries.
- Designing and developing specialized sectoral curricula in collaboration with companies, with a strong emphasis on competencies related to green and digital transitions.
